Beacon of Hope

"Completed in January 2013, the Beacon of Hope was created to honor the victims and survivors of
the 2011 tornado that devastated the city of Joplin, Missouri. Located at Freeman Health System,
the open air memorial structure also honors the employees, caregivers and volunteers who assisted
with relief efforts at the hospital. The sculpture, designed by Chad Greer, AIA of CGA Architects,
serves as the centerpiece to a tranquil outdoor space, lined with seating, landscaping and walkways.
Traxon Wall Washer Shield AC XB cold white fixtures are installed on the interior of the acrylic pieces
and provide a rich, even wash operated on a time clock. Designed to accommodate outdoor
environments, Traxon Wall Washer Shield AC XB is highly durable, easy to maintain and flexible for
use in many different scenarios, while providing a simple connection system. This powerful yet
energy-efficient installation not only provides lighting for the surrounding park and plaza, but is a
symbol of hope for the city of Joplin."
