The elementary school at Dover Hill combines two aging elementary schools in Joplin and helps ensure that all Joplin Schools students have access to safe, quality, and equitable learning environments district-wide. Serving grades K-5, the school provides flexible learning spaces for students of all abilities. The special education suite serves as a tornado shelter for the whole school.

The exterior blends modern features and materials with design elements that honor the two historic schools. The interior inspires students curiosity with rich colors, textures, and history. 

The site provides entry locations on Main Street and Murphy Blvd. with parent and bus drop-off areas separated for safety. New sidewalks connect the school to Murphy Blvd. Park, Landreth Trail, and Main Street sidewalks.
